If you’ve made it here, your little lamb is already coming to life Now it’s time to add the sweetest details… the dress, bow, and her little mushroom parasol 🍄✨

If you haven’t completed the lamb yet, you can find Part 1 here: 👉 Blog Part 1

And as always, you can follow along with the full step-by-step video here:👉 YouTube Part 2

🧵 Before you start

This part focuses more on shaping and details, so take your time with it ✨

A few quick notes:

  • Work loosely when making the frill for a softer look

  • Don’t worry if your mushroom looks slightly different - that’s part of the charm

👗 Dress

Using your chosen dress colour:

  • Attach yarn to dress row of the body using a slst

  • Work a round of single crochet evenly

🎀 Frill detail

To create the ruffled edge:

  • Work multiple stitches of different sizes into the same stitch.

  • Repeat around to form a soft wave

💡 Adjust how many stitches you place in each stitch to control how “frilly” it looks

🎀 Bow

Using the same colour (or contrasting if you prefer):

  • In a MG make 2 ps with a slsp in between,

  • Fasten off and wrap yarn around the centre to form the bow shape

Leave a tail for sewing

🍄 Mushroom Parasol

This is probably the most detailed part of the project, so I really recommend following the video alongside this section ✨

You’ll start with the white stem, lightly stuffing as you go. The stem gradually narrows, then increases out into the mushroom top.

Once the top begins to form, you’ll change to red yarn, keeping the white yarn attached for the bobble stitches.

The mushroom uses:

  • single crochet

  • increases + decreases

  • back post stitches

  • back loop only rounds

  • colour changes

  • bobble stitches

The white bobbles create the little mushroom spots, and then the cap is shaped closed at the end.

Mushroom frills

To create the frilly underside, you’ll work separately into the front loops only of rounds 19 and 20.

Round 19 creates the larger frill.Round 20 creates the smaller frill above.

This part can feel a little fiddly, so take your time and use the video if you need help seeing where to place your hook.

🧸 Final Assembly

Face:

Embroider the face (eyes, lashes, and nose) using the photos for reference or the video for placement. Make sure to compete the facial embroidery before attaching the parasol to the lamb.

💡 Tip:

The expression really brings the lamb to life, so don’t rush this step - small adjustments in placement can completely change the look.

Mushroom:

Once your mushroom is finished, position it slightly to one side of the lamb’s head.

The stalk should sit over the shoulder rather than bending around the head, so it looks more like a little umbrella/parasol.

Sew the mushroom top securely to the lamb’s head first, then gently guide the stem down and attach it to the lamb’s hands.

Bow:

Sew the bow onto the back of the dress, where the dress straps meet. Video tutorial here.
